Paddle head clearance necks

Postby twa90 » Wed Dec 16, 2009 3:07 am

Hi everyone, I am a newbie to this forum, but a longtime customer at TNT. First off, I must say that these guys really put out good products. I haven't purchased anything from them that I wasn't happy with. That's really an understatement, I haven't purchased anything I wasn't completely blown away by how good it was! That's what us "Oregonians" always expect from other Oregonians. Anyway, can anyone give me a review of the paddle head strat necks. Are they bare wood or finished . I have a project guitar that has a neck I got from Guitarfetish.com and it isn't that good. The upper frets buzz like crazy. Anyway, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on it, cause it is one that I made out of spare parts I had from other projects and I was looking for a bargain neck somewhere that hopefully doesn't have the same problem.Any input would be appreciated. I also am so stoked to have a place to go and ask guitar questions from other guitar "Modders" ( I guess that's the right term). Thanks Guys Tim in Estacada Oregon

I can't speak for the Strat necks, but I just received my tele kit a couple hours ago, and the paddle neck included is beautiful! I think just a little light sanding in the back, and of course cleaning up the headstock when I cut it, put a finish on it, and it will be great! May have to clean up the fret ends a little, but nothing too major.

Hey guys, if anyone buys one..please give us some info on the necks, I've got a"partscaster" just waiting for a new neck...I'm just curious about the fretwork & radius on 'em. I'm new here, but I've been buying parts & electronic stuff from GPO for quite a while, and no issues so far, I'm really impressed with the quality & quick delivery time.

I bought one of the strat kits that came with a paddle headstock the neck is very nice, i did some work on the plastic nut and eventually just changed it out for a bone nut but all in all it plays very well. also if your worried about finish just rub the neck down with tung oil or gun stock oil and let it dry overnight then rub it down with 0000 steel wool and you should be good to go
