Randy Rhoads guitar kit.

Randy Rhoads guitar kit.

Postby AJ6stringsting » Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:49 am

Man, I wish they had these kits out years ago, I would have never bought those Randy Rhoads -Jacksons ( not that they're built bad), it just that they're over priced.
I finished the kit in no time, the only problem was that their was no hole to ground my electronics on the tremolo claw in the back, I drilled it my self.
To my surprise, this guitar has become my number one. Some of my gear snob friends are amazed at the qualities of this guitars pick ups, the look of the guitar, feel of the neck and the price I paid.
Many of the name brand guitar companies are getting full of them selves ( not naming names here) and it's great that G.P.O. and others are going to bring them down to earth with these quality guitar products. Gibson and Fender were put to shame in the 80's when Kramer, Jackson and Hamer started listening to the needs / wants of guitar players.
G.P.O. is a god send to me, great products at way too great price.
I was going to put in a pair of Dimarzio Evolutions on my guitar kit, but my Zebra Screamers sounded way to good to waste away in my box of spare parts. I just hope they keep selling these kits, so later on I can order more.

I completely agree...that's why Gibson bought out Kramer...and Fender bought out Jackson  .

ya my friends snarf and turn their nose up to dragon fires but when they hear them they want them lol. I've even taken emg's out of guitars to put the active dragon fires in their place!

Some one I know, bought a new "Kramer" and they don't come close to the ones from the 1980's. The kit I order here, has turned heads and rocked the ears of gear snobs that I know.

I posted a review , twice on Harmony Central.com about my DFRR Randy Rhoads guitar kit and they didn't post it.
One of my myspace friends told me Harmony Central is owned by a nation wide music store and they won't allow posts that are not of their "Name Brands" staples.

I finally got a review on Music Gear.
Have any of you been on Harmony Central, their 2.0 version sucks. Many people are complaining that old posts, gear reviews from the past are gone and find the new version a head ache to navigate.

Yeah, I've been there a few times...I wasn't that impressed with some of the information & poor attitudes that some of their members had. You should check out the forums at Guitar Workd, I post there (under skylark41), and the people are pretty cool, plus they know their stuff alot better than some of the members on other forums (from what I've seen). If you decide to join (if you haven't already), shoot me a PM, and sy "hi", and I'll give you a "low down" on some of the cooler (and smarter) members.

Harmony Central finally posted my review of my DFRR "V" kit. I wrote it out in February and they finally posted it in late May. :?
The guitar is still holding up and breaking in right. 8-)
